What type of data will be collected?
Information you give us
We collect data about you and your family during our initial and other meetings with you. We will also collect data about you and your family from other people. We collect the data through note-taking and filling in of fact-finds and questionnaires about you and your family’s circumstances.

You may give us information about you when you use our services, by filling in forms on our site or by corresponding with us by phone, email, post or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you enter into a competition, promotion or survey and when you report a problem with our site. We may also need to collect sensitive personal data which could include details around your physical and mental health. You can choose whether to supply or withhold any sensitive personal data. However, withholding this information may restrict our services we are able to offer you.

Information we receive from other sources
We may make checks with credit rating agencies to authenticate and verify your identity and credit status. We also make checks with organisations with whom you have policies of insurance and investments and with your mortgage provider. These checks are to help us with our legal obligations and to ensure that we provide you with advice that suits your circumstances. The scope and extent of the gathering of information from third parties depends on what type of service you are taking from us.

We may receive information about you from third parties who assist in the provision of our (including but not limited to, service providers and prospective new Profit Tree Finance partners, sub-contractors in technical payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, and credit reference agencies). We will always ensure that any data we receive has been collected lawfully and fairly in accordance with your rights under the Act.

How is your information used?

Primarily, we use your data and data about your family’s circumstances to provide financial advice to you and complete transactions on your behalf. We analyse and assess your data to maintain and develop our relationship with you.

Depending on the instructions we receive from you, we may pass your data to other professional advisers to enable us to provide advice most suited to your circumstances. Usually, this would be referrals to accountants, solicitors, tax advisers and sometimes to specialist advisers in the financial and insurance industry where you may benefit from the expertise of such third parties. We, and any third party specialist advisers to whom we introduce you, will pass your data to organisations when you agree to purchase or amend policies and products.

Where we store your personal data
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the United Kingdom but it will never be transferred outside of the European Economic Area („EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the United Kingdom who work for us or for one of our suppliers. We provide advice on a wide portfolio of financial products. We believe these are some of the best and most appropriate in the marketplace. You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you and to have any inaccurate data corrected. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee from £10 up to £50 for Health and Medical records to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
